Snow Days!

The girls were so happy that it snowed again. I on the other hand was sad that they had a snow day and two days with a 2 hour delay. We had about 12 inches of snow. It was so deep that the sled sank and wouldn't go anywhere. Tony stayed home on Wednesday too. No one wanted to drive in to the office.

Baby Ben has arrived!

I am so happy to tell everyone that Ben is here. He was born Jan. 8th at 11:08 am. He weighted 8 lbs, 8oz and is 21 inches long. His full name is Benjamin Anthony Kazakevicius. The girls are very happy to finally have him home and in their arms. They were asking every day when he would get here. The hospital was great. They were friendly and on top of things. We are happy to be home and in our own beds. Katie, Maddie, Gramma MeMeMe and Poppie came to see Ben as soon as they could.
Here are the more vivid details. The alarm went off at 6:15am. My water broke at 6:18am, I called the doctor and then my parents. I took a shower and got the girls dressed and ready to go. Tony was a little harder to get ready and motivated. My parents left Monee as soon as I called them. I got the girls ready for school and we dropped them off there at 7:50am. We got to the hospital around 8:30am. I was admitted and put in a gown. They checked we out and asked a thousand questions. I was progressing pretty quickly. My doctor was at the hospital and checked things out too. I had contractions from 8am. They came constantly and strong. At the hospital they had a birthing chair and that was a life saver. I made a comment to the nurse and Tony that the baby would be born before lunch and he was. The hospital had a great service. There is a Massage Therapist on hand. She was there during the entire labor. She also put cold ice towels on me during the time that was a great help. It was great! My parents called to get an update and instructions for the girls. When Ben was ready to come I was happy to be near the end. Going natural takes a lot of energy and strength. I was almost to my breaking point. When the doctor came in she said I was pretty much there and everyone was ready and waiting for the big arrival. I was ready and wanted to welcome Ben soon. It took about four hard pushes and out he came. It was love at first sight. He had some bruising on his face from coming out so quickly. They looked him over and for the most he was fine. They did hear a heart murmur so they scheduled a Echo. The Echo came back that he has VSD and we need to see a Specialist next week. They said it is common and not to worry. We think it is the same thing Katie had when she was born. I will keep everyone posted on that. They cleaned Ben up some and handed him over. SO CUTE!!! He nursed quickly and our life together began. We called my parents and they were amazed that Ben was already here by 11:08am. They picked the girls up from school and they all headed to the hospital. Katie and Maddie were excited. Katie was all over Ben as soon as she saw him. Maddie was more standoffish. She didn't want him to cry or to get shots. When we got home on Saturday they had cake and cookies to celebrate Ben's arrival. They also decorated the house and the outside. My parents had the laundry done and the house cleaned. (Our washer broke the Monday before. So we had about 10 loads of laundry sitting around). Thanks mom and dad!!!
I will post pictures daily if I get the time. My Mother-in-law is coming on Monday and staying till Thursday. Then my mom is coming back on Friday or Saturday depending on the weather and staying until the next weekend.

Katie unwrapping her presents. She was the quickest unwrapper next to Uncle Todd. She unwrapped 6 to Maddie's 1. Maddie likes to open, admire and then ask questions about each gift. She was so cute!

The rental car Gramma and Poppie needed to get home in after x-mas. Their car broke down and needed to be fixed. Luckily it broke near our house because the tow truck took over 4 hours and a rental was not ready until the next day. They came back on Wednesday to pick up their Volvo.

Two sisters in love!

The long awaited doll house. They have been playing with it since x-mas morning.

2008 The good and bad!

2008 is over and we are starting with a fresh slate. So much has gone on in those 366 days, some good and some bad. We would like to remember our family members that have gone up to heaven to watch over us from above. Babies have been born and lives have changed. Make each day count and be a friend to those you know and don't know. You can make a difference!

Some sad things that have happened in our life.

Grandma Benji, Uncle Cheeta, Hammie our hamster and our kitty Marko (age 13) all passed away.
