Katie Ice Skating

A couple of weeks ago Katie went Ice Skating with Tony. She had a lot of fun and was pretty good at it. Maddie went to a Birthday Party at a friend's house.

Katie has become a reading fool. She loves to read. Ben and Maddie will sit and let her read quite often. I am so proud of her. Her teacher says that she has moved up four reading levels in the last two weeks. Good Job Katie!

Katie has become such a good reader!

I am so proud...

I tried to post this last night but fell asleep at least three times before I could even open the computer.
I am so proud of Katie. Yesterday we went door to door selling cookies. Her goal was 100 until she looked at the incentives again. She started out wanting 150 as we walked along. Many people did not answer the door or had already bought cookies from someone else. She was getting sad, but she said she want to sell 150. So we keep walking. After about an hour and a half we went home for lunch. I then asked if she was done or if she wanted to go back out. She said she wanted to go back out. She then changed her goal to 200. She says, "I can do it. I want to get the 200 badge and a wallet." The wind was strong and cold. We started and she just keep trying. Sometimes she danced at the door as she waited. Sometimes she left the door sad and discouraged. We did the whole back half of the subd. We talked about how in earlier days people sold things door to door to make money to feed their families. We talked about goals and challenges in peoples lives. How people have to work for the things they want and goals are how they get there. She was a trooper. I am happy to say that she needs only 21 more boxes to meet her goal of 200. Way to go, Girlie Girl!!!

Katie's 1st Day of First Grade!

The bus is here! The kids have assigned seats. Katie got on with a kiss and a wave goodbye.

To see her get on the bus makes me realize how grown-up she is. I can't believe how quick the time has gone. Not to long ago she was just hanging out with mom.

Katie Graduates!

Katie graduated from Kindergarten on Friday! Hooray:)

Friday, was Katie's last day of school. It was a happy and amazing day. She has learned so much. I am so proud of her. She did a great job at graduation. She had two different lines. One was "A Y says "A" as in pray. My word is day. The other line was verse John 1:12. After the graduation there was a little party. The kids had their star of the week posters on display. Mrs. Stefanik also made a scrapbook for each kid of all the things they did during the school year. I can't believe that she will be in 1st grade in the fall.

Tooth #5

Katie lost tooth #5 today. Her and Maddie were playing and Maddie hit her head into Katie lose tooth. It fell right out. The worst part was that there was a lot of bleeding. Katie can not stand blood. The bleeding stopped after awhile and all was forgotten. I think there are no other lose teeth. We will have to wait and see!
